Makenzie & Will Brian
Hello! We are the founders of Epic Gold! Will and I purchased our first performance dog and golden retriever in 2019. After purchasing Teddy we were head over heals in love with goldens. Teddy introduced us to the world of dog sports which he has thrived in. We compete in fast cat, dock diving, barn hunt, therapy work, and so much more with him.
We take the time to show our dogs versatility, competing with them in multiple performance venues. We love our dogs like our children. All of our puppies are whelped and raised in our home. They are exposed to early neurological stimulation from Puppy Culture. We only have 1 - 2 litters a year, if that. Please be patient as these are our pets/family first, and this is our hobby, not career.

Why did we start a breeding program? Well, we started a program because we fell in love with the breed. We wanted to improve the over all health of golden retrievers while preserving their breed standard. Unfortunately, the over breeding of golden retrievers has created a saturated pool of genetics which has caused temperament, structure, and health issues in the breed. We are ethical breeders that abide by the GRCA code of conduct. It is important to us to preserve this beautiful breed! Along with the saturation of the gene pool due to unethical breeding, comes the doodle epidemic. We love all dogs, but the breeding of doodles has really impacted our breed. Taking two opposite breeds and breeding them together is unethical. We will NEVER sell to a doodle breeder.
Tammy & Ben Thomas
Ben and Tammy are the parents of Makenzie. Ben and Tammy are active in dog sports and therapy venues. Both Tammy and Ben assist in the raising and care of all litters produced by Epic Gold.
Teddy
Teddy is neutered and is our lovely pet. He does many sports: barn hunt, fast cat, and dock diving, just to name a few. Teddy is not a breeding prospect at Epic Gold.
